The Eyecon and Playtech Partnership

The fate of Eyecon and their many popular games was significantly boosted when they became a subsidiary of industry leading software providers Playtech. Playtech Group acquired Eyecon in February 2016 in a deal worth around £50 million. Playtech considered the deal a huge opportunity to further extend their influence across the UK bingo sector, with Eyecon slots known for being popular with bingo players. Prior to this point, Eyecon had a key role in providing slots for recognisable bingo network providers such as Virtue Fusion and Dragonfish. While this element of their business has been retained and remains core to their offering, they have also been able to develop further slots and as one of the companies working in conjunction with Playtech they are able to find easier access to bigger name casinos and a wider range of sites. Playtech also saw the benefit of investing in Eyecon due to their proprietary Remote Gaming Server. The Eyecon RGS was developed in-house and gives the parent company quick and direct access to the company’s distribution channels without the need to develop new software or retrofit applications to the new company’s games and options. The Eyecon RGS allows Playtech access to the whole 888 bingo network, including their own brand and also the Virtue Fusion network.
